![]() To get your "mutually center the contents with the mask" method to work, you would have to first make sure that the center of the whole contents was what you wanted to be centered in the mask. What he's asking for is a feature request, to consider the bounding box of a clipping group to be the bounding box of the mask alone. Illustrator won't do that, because Align always works on bounding boxes, and the bounding box of a clipping group includes its contents. Then he might want to take all those clipped photos, and some caption text, and align them in a vertical column so that each person's picture was above their name and all the clipping ovals were centered. Since the faces are at different places within each photo, the clipping masks are not centered on the photos. ![]() ![]() Probably he would need to modify the contents much more than is convenient to get their sizes to be appropriate for mutual centering.įor example, suppose he has placed a bunch of photographs, and put an oval clipping mask around just the face in each one. ![]() I imagine Latchet doesn't have that much flexibility in how he aligns the clipping masks onto the contents. ![]()
